Learn/ Guided Meditations 6: Mindful Relaxation
Relaxation is an integral component of exquisite self-care. We can use our intentions and the power of the mind to effect a change in our state of being of the moment. Thus, we always have a choice: to hold and to observe or to transform the energy of our experience. The first track on this CD is specifically designed to help you achieve a deep state of relaxation. It uses a technique based on autogenic training – a form of gentle self-hypnosis. The practice is similar to the body scan (CD 1) in that you will be invited to explore each part of the body, however, instead of observing the sensations that are present, you will use your imagination to feel sensations of heaviness and warmth in the body. This produces a deep state of relaxation. The next track uses guided imagery to create a state of relaxation. The final track is a progressive muscle relaxation practice that activates the different muscle groups in the body, while observing the sensations of tension and release. This practice also produces a state of relaxation.
